What is DOS Attack and what are DDOS Attack Types And it's tools to work out

Denial of service (DOS) attack, a type of attack on a network that is designed to bring the network to its knees by flooding it with useless traffic. Many DoS attacks, such as the Ping of Death and Teardrop attacks, exploit limitations in the TCP/IP protocols.

Types:-

Teardrop attack is type of attack where fragmented packets are forged to overlap each other when the receiving host tries to reassemble them.

Ping of death type of DoS attack in which the attacker sends a ping request that is larger than 65,536 bytes, which is the maximum size that IP allows. While a ping larger than 65,536 bytes is too large to fit in one packet that can be transmitted, TCP/IP allows a packet to be fragmented, essentially splitting the packet into smaller segments that are eventually reassembled. Attacks took advantage of this flaw by fragmenting packets that when received would total more than the allowed number of bytes and would effectively cause a buffer overload on the operating system at the receiving end, crashing the system. Ping of death attacks are rare today as most operating systems have been fixed to prevent this type of attack from occurring.

DDOS Attack: A distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) occurs when multiple systems flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system, usually one or more web servers. This is the result of multiple compromised systems (for example a botnet) flooding the targeted system(s) with traffic. When a server is overloaded with connections, new connections can no longer be accepted.

Peer to Peer Attack: Attackers have found a way to exploit a number of bugs in peer-to-peer servers to initiate DDoS attacks. Peer-to-peer attacks are different from regular botnet-based attacks. With peer-to-peer there is no botnet and the attacker does not have to communicate with the clients it subverts. Instead, the attacker acts as a "puppet master," instructing clients of large peer-to-peer file sharing hubs to disconnect from their peer-to-peer network and to connect to the victim's website instead. As a result, several thousand computers may aggressively try to connect to a target website. While peer-to-peer attacks are easy to identify with signatures, the large number of IP addresses that need to be blocked (often over 250,000 during the course of a large-scale attack) means that this type of attack can overwhelm mitigation defenses.

For all known DOS attacks, there are software fixes that system administrators can install to limit the damage caused by the attacks.

Top 10 Dos Attack Tools:-

1. LOIC (Low Orbit Ion Canon)
This tool was used by the popular hackers group Anonymous. This tool is really easy to use, even for a beginner. This tool performs a DOS attack by sending UDP, TCP, or HTTP requests to the victim server. You only need to know the URL of IP address of the server and the tool will do the rest.

Now, multi-purpose 'nano-camera' that operates at speed of light and make more nano Tech availability

Washington: An inexpensive multi-purpose 'nano-camera' that can operate at the speed of light has been developed by a team of MIT researchers, including Indian-origin scientists.
The USD 500 camera could be used in medical imaging and collision-avoidance detectors for cars, and to improve the accuracy of motion tracking and gesture-recognition devices used in interactive gaming.
The three-dimensional camera was developed by researchers in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab.
The camera is based on 'Time of Flight' technology in which the location of objects is calculated by how long it takes a light signal to reflect off a surface and return to the sensor.
However, unlike existing devices based on this technology, the new camera is not fooled by rain, fog, or even translucent objects, said co-author Achuta Kadambi.
"Using the current state of the art, such as the new Kinect, you cannot capture translucent objects in 3-D," said Kadambi, a graduate student at MIT.
"That is because the light that bounces off the transparent object and the background smear into one pixel on the camera. Using our technique you can generate 3-D models of translucent or near-transparent objects," Kadambi added.
In a conventional Time of Flight camera, a light signal is fired at a scene, where it bounces off an object and returns to strike the pixel.
Since the speed of light is known, it is simple for the camera to calculate the distance the signal has travelled and therefore the depth of the object it has been reflected from.
The new device uses an encoding technique commonly used in the telecommunications industry to calculate the distance a signal has travelled, said Ramesh Raskar, an associate professor of media arts and sciences.
Raskar was the leader of the Camera Culture group within the Media Lab, which developed the method alongside Kadambi, Refael Whyte, Ayush Bhandari, and Christopher Barsi at MIT and Adrian Dorrington and Lee Streeter from the University of Waikato in New Zealand. In 2011 Raskar's group unveiled a trillion-frame-per-second camera capable of capturing a single pulse of light as it travelled through a scene.
The camera does this by probing the scene with a femtosecond impulse of light, then uses fast but expensive laboratory-grade optical equipment to take an image each time.
This 'femto-camera' costs around USD 500,000 to build.
In contrast, the new 'nano-camera' probes the scene with a continuous-wave signal that oscillates at nanosecond periods.
This allows the team to use inexpensive hardware— off-the-shelf light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can strobe at nanosecond periods, for example - meaning the camera can reach a time resolution within one order of magnitude of femtophotography while costing just USD 500.  source by DC.

Jaguar F-type coupe is a faster,Stiffer,Sharper . review about F-Type and it's organs details

From jaguar company's web :-
"  The all-aluminium F-TYPE Coupé – the most dynamically capable, performance-focused sports car that Jaguar has ever produced – is available in three versions: F-TYPE R, F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE.
The range-topping F-TYPE R Coupé is powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine in 550PS/680Nm tune, delivering acceleration to 60mph in 4.0-seconds, and a top speed of 186mph (electronically limited).
The F-TYPE S Coupé and F-TYPE Coupé are powered by Jaguar’s 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engines in 380PS/460Nm and 340PS/450Nm forms respectively, giving 0-60mph in 4.8/5.1-seconds and top speeds of 171/161mph.
The F-TYPE Coupé embodies the uncompromised design vision of the stunning Jaguar C-X16 concept sports coupé that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, its dramatic cabin-rearward stance being defined by three heartlines. The first two heartlines – shared with F-TYPE Convertible – form the muscular front and rear wings, the third heartline being the sweeping Coupé roof profile which provides an unbroken silhouette while emphasising the visual drama of the tapered cabin sitting between powerful rear haunches.
F-TYPE R and F-TYPE S Coupé models also have the option of Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes which offer absolute consistency of performance and excellent fade resistance, as well as a total unsprung-weight saving of 21kg.
Every F-TYPE Coupé model utilises Jaguar’s eight-speed close-ratio Quickshift transmission which is optimised for sporting performance, with full manual sequential control from the central SportShift selector or steering wheel-mounted paddles.
“The F-TYPE Coupé provides its driver with a unique sports car experience. It combines seductive design with cutting-edge technology and performance which is truly breathtaking. Engaging, precise, intuitive and alive – it is the definitive sports Coupé.”Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director, Jaguar Land Rover
Visual appeal is fundamental to Jaguar and, as such, the F-TYPE Coupé is immediately recognisable, building on the design of the stunning C-X16 concept sports Coupé and the F-TYPE Convertible – winner of the 2013 ‘World Car Design of the Year’ award.
“Creating a sports Coupé is the purest of design tasks, and also the most challenging; get it right and aesthetically the result will be as dynamic as the car should be rewarding to drive. In F-TYPE Coupé, I believe we’ve got it right.
The purity of the C-X16 concept has been retained without compromise; the F-TYPE Coupé’s long bonnet, low roofline and tapering cabin inspire me every time I see it.”Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar
F-TYPE R COUPÉThe F-TYPE R Coupé represents the pinnacle of the F-TYPE range. Powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 all-aluminium engine in 550PS and 680Nm form, the F-TYPE R Coupé achieves headline figures of 0-60mph in 4.0-seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 186mph, 50-75mph taking a mere 2.4-seconds. CO2 emissions are 259g/km.
"
LOS ANGELES -- Beauty and the beast? These two concepts are not exclusive in the new 2015 Jaguar F-type Coupe, unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Pulling something of a reversal, Jaguar released the F-type convertible earlier this year, a stylish roadster with exceptional performance, and now is showing off the hardtop version. Automakers more frequently release convertible variants after a new hardtop model.
Jaguar's order of release is somewhat inexplicable, as it showed off a concept version of the F-type Coupe, called the C-X16, two years ago at the Frankfurt auto show. The F-type Coupe, with its GT styling, is also a better looking car than its convertible sibling. It seems that Jaguar saved the best for last.
As with the F-type convertible, the Coupe comes with three engine choices: two supercharged 3-liter V-6 engines, and a supercharged 5-liter V-8. Respectively, these models are designated the F-type, F-type S, and F-type R, with horsepower ranging from 340 all the way up to 550. Direct injection enhances efficiency in all of these engines, and each comes mated to a one-choice eight-speed automatic.
Three pedal fans may lament the lack of a manual transmission, but this automatic does an excellent job of delivering quick shifts in manual mode, with almost zero torque converter lag. Likewise, its Sport program is very capable.

The F-type Convertible delivers fantastic driving dynamics. On a cone course, it showed itself as a fun sports car, with traction control and vehicle stability programs letting the tail hang out just enough. The F-type Coupe will feature the same suspension and stability programs, so it should behave in a similar fashion.
However, the inclusion of the hardtop creates more rigidity throughout the body, allowing for flatter cornering. In fact, Jaguar notes that the F-type Coupe is its most rigid production car ever. With the F-type Coupe R's acceleration putting it at 60 mph in just 4 seconds, it is likely to be Jaguar's best performance car in the current line-up.
For the F-type Coupe, Jaguar was also able to retune the spring rates for better handling. A ceramic brake package will also be available for the S and R models, a choice suitable for drivers who intend to bring their cars to the track.
Of more qualitative consideration is the look of the coupe body. Where the F-type roadster's cloth top shows no particular style when up, the coupe body incorporates a graceful roofline stretching into a hatchback over the rear and lying in between the two rear fenders, which rise up like the haunches of a big car ready to spring.
Jaguar puts a big glass panel down the center of the hatchback, and notes that this configuration gives the F-type Coupe cargo room for a couple of golf bags.
Electronics in the dashboard, including standard navigation, will be the same as that in the F-type convertible. Here, Jaguar pushes few boundaries, merely providing very functional features for route guidance and hands-free phone use. Jaguar has not currently exploited connected car technology.
The centerpiece of the cabin electronics will be the Meridian audio system, available in a standard 10-speaker, 380-watt format, or an upgraded 12-speaker, 770-watt system. These systems deliver very fine audio reproduction in the convertible, although Jaguar does not seem to have taken advantage of the Coupe's hardtop to further enhance the system.
The 2015 Jaguar F-type Coupe will make a good alternative for more serious performance drivers who would not consider a convertible when it goes on sale in Spring of next year. The car's driving dynamics should make it very rewarding, although its fun, tail-happy driving character may have it struggling to keep up with more precise handling Porsches and BMW M models.
Beyond track performance, there can be no argument against its classic GT lines

MediaTek MT6592 unveiled as "world's first true octa-core" mobile processor

MediaTek has launched the MT6592 chipset, which it has been claiming is the world's first true octa-core mobile processor. MediaTek expects the new chipset to be available in devices running Android Jelly Bean by the end of this year, while Android KitKat-based smartphones powered with MT6592 are likely to be released in early 2014.

Amazon's supercomputer among the world's fastest 100

  • 26,496 cores
  • Theoretical maximum speed of 593.9 teraflop / s
  • Memory 106 TB
The list of the 500 fastest computers in the world is constantly evolving. In the last list on the Amazon supercomputer reached 64th position crowned as one of the most important developments. To achieve this position the Amazon supercomputer needed 26,496 cores that have led to process almost half petaflop per second . His previous record, in 2011, stayed at 240.1 teraflops per second and now stands at number 165.
Theoretically Amazon supercomputer could get a handle 593.9 teraflop / s but his record was 484.2 teraflop / s . The other technical features are those that leave your eyes open for a while:
  • Memory 106 TB
  • 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection
  • Using instances "c3.8xlarge"
  • Intel Xeon E5-2680 V2 with 16 cores and 2.8 GHz
But beyond specifications must talk about latency. Amazon's supercomputer runs in a single location to reduce the maximum. It is the only system which is virtualized in the TOP 100 so that those responsible are more than satisfied with the result.
Having only a data center allows this lower latency, but also allows for minor fluctuations in the networkso that packets can be sent are greater. A vital feature for the use of the system.
But there is life beyond the supercomputer from Amazon and I have to make mention of Tianhe-2 , the supercomputer developed by the National University of Defense Technology of China, which maintained its position as the No. 1 system in the world thanks to its ability to process up to 33.86 petaflop / s .

Some data of the 500 fastest computers in the world

The list of the 500 fastest supercomputers in the world leaves some very curious, as the processors used or the use of the most common technology for internal communications.
Intel continues to provide the processors for the vast majority of participants, 82.4% by 412 of the 500 systems . AMD Opteron has 43 devices and IBM does the same with 40.
94% of the supercomputers presented with six or more cores and 75% use 8 or more. The InfiniBand technology is in 207 systems, 4 more than the previous list and is crowned as the system most widely used internal wiring.

Valve explain Steam in-home streaming, as early closed beta begins with a revolution

While Linux ports are becoming increasingly de rigueur among PC developers, Valve's living room focused SteamOS still won't be able to run the majority of Steam's Windows-only catalogue. That's why the SteamOS announcement made mention of game streaming, letting your Windows machine do the heavy lifting. Following on from their creation of an in-home streaming Steam group, now they've kicked off the streaming beta, and created a series of posts explaining how it will work.

"Any two computers in a home can be used to stream a gameplay session and this can enable playing games on systems that would not traditionally be able to run those games," Valve write. "For example, a Windows only game could be streamed from a Windows PC to a Steam Machine running Linux in the living room. A graphically intensive game could be streamed from a beefy gaming rig in the office to your low powered laptop that you are using in bed. You could even start a game on one computer and move to a more comfortable location and continue playing it there." The second computer is used purely to receive audio and video signal, and send controller inputs.

A Q&A clarifies a few of the streaming feature's technicalities, confirming that it will be free, and saying that internet streaming is "currently not supported." Perhaps the more significant, if understandable revelation is that PCs will be unusable during streams. "Your computer is dedicated to running the game and input is coming from both the remote client and the local system. It would be very confusing if someone were trying to use the computer at the same time."

Head over to the In-home Streaming Announcements page for more in-depth technical details. The streaming beta is now running for the first wave of testers. If you'd like to be considered for an expanded beta, sign up to the Steam group

Samsung is preparing three-sided screen smartphone it's leaked Architecture is shown below

It seems that major manufacturers of smartphones have become aware of the need to go a step further to keep their terminals on top and continue to attract consumers.

Yes, as more than one of you have thought because not enough to launch a terminal half-inch larger, a CPU with more cores or other small improvements. No, we must innovate, should distance itself from the competition, we must offer something that really serve as a hallmark in this difficult market.

Well, it's easy to say, but not so simple to carry out, especially if we want to maintain a controlled price, but it is possible.

A sample of this change of direction in the smartphone sector is the Galaxy Round and LG Flex, two terminals quite striking though, personally, I think that Palm takes it model LG, thanks to its self-repairable housing.

The case is that the Korean giant seems unwilling to rest on the laurels of success, something that has been very clear with a new patent that they have arisen in which recorded a three-sided screen smartphone.

The idea is simpler than it looks and is in fact quite clear just to see the images that accompany the patent. Thus, the center of the screen be used as normal, while the two sides of the phone would be as we see in the image, who heads the news.

On these sides could be, for example, the "slide to unlock", battery level indicators or even other types of icons, which would, ultimately, giving the terminal a new design and a striking structure.

Do you like? Because we will have to wait until 2014 to see something as well in the consumer market although, almost in complete safety, at prices high.

The First DDR4 Memory Will Be Released By Crucial by the next month or later soon and it's Advantages

  • DDR4 RAM is twice faster than the DDR3.
  • Use 20% less energy.
  • Higher density memory will be possible with this new technology.
If you are planning to invest in a great upgrade for your computer maybe you should wait a little longer to make decisions, is that the first DDR4 RAM will come to market next month and have very interesting advantages over previous technology, the DDR3.
While technology already existed was not available for purchase by consumers yet. But the company Crucial had promised his release in late 2013, and being the middle of November, it is clear that will be the last month of the year in which the announcement will be implemented.
The new DDR4 RAM will require an update of the motherboard and other computer components as the currently sold are compatible with DDR3 technology. This will limit the possibility of expansion at first but over time will make a big improvement in performance, thanks to the technical possibilities that this new category of memory can reach.
It seems that DDR4 isn’t as far away as we thought . According to Crucial Memory’s promo page  it’s going to come out late 2013. There is  just one month left till the years end. So that being said, we are going to have DDR4 in our PC’s hopefully by next month.
Of course DDR4 has a different architecture, meaning we are going to need a different motherboard, we can’t just put them in our old DDR3 systems. But, is it worth upgrading to DDR4? Crucial Memory also provided a comparison chart with some specifications of what DDR4 will offer, just to show you the difference. The DDR4 will only eat up 1.2Volts as stated by Crucial , while having twice the speed of DDR3 Memory. DDR4 will run on a base memory speed of 2133MHz while having 4GB as their minimum density. According to the chart, we can see that DDR4 is 100% faster than DDR3, requires 20% less voltage and has 300% more density than that of DDR3.

Compared to DDR3, DDR4 will have a smaller die allowing more memory per RAM and also allowing DDR4 to hold up to 16GB per module. Well, that’s massive and twice the single stick DDR3 could provide (8GB). We can’t predict the accurate date of when DDR4 will come out, but as a wild guess it may be available by the middle of next month. Crucial Memory isn’t just one of the manufacturers who are going to throw up DDR4 memory that early. Seeing the increasing competition in the market, we may see more manufacturers coming up with early releases of DDR4, forcing motherboard manufacturers to come up with compatible motherboards.
Advantages of DDR4 RAM
  • Higher speed : nowadays DDR3 have a frequency around 1 Ghz, 1666 Mhz achieving the best performance. The DDR4 RAM can speed 2GHz or more and this results to the user as greater speed computer to manage the operating system, applications and games.
  • Greater efficiency : to consume 20% less energy to reduce consumption and battery team. This also enables greater battery life and energy savings will be somewhat influential in large-scale facilities such as servers.
  • Higher density : higher density housing allows more memory in each RAM module. A module of 16 GB will be possible with the technology of DDR4 RAM. This allows a greater amount of RAM but without taking so many slots of the computer.
Updates :

Crucial has answered to a tweet  that they expect DDR4 to now come out sometime next year :

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 launched: Brings improved rendering, speed

Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) for Windows 7 users, and it is available globally in 95 languages. Windows 7 customers will receive the update automatically in the coming weeks, starting with those already running the IE11 Developer and Release Previews. The new browser from Microsoft has been available to Windows 8.1 users since its launch last month.

Announcing the release on a blog post, the Redmond giant emphasises the speed improvements in IE11, and instead of quoting synthetic benchmark scores, calls it 30 percent faster than competing Windows 7 browsers for loading and rendering real world Web sites. On Windows 7, IE11 is 9 percent faster than IE10 according to Microsoft.

IE11 is also said to make common browsing activities faster, with improved algorithms for faster access to frequent sites, and enhanced in-form editing controls to preserve formatting from Office and other apps.
