Developed by Imangi Studios, original Temple Run was an instant hit and secured 170 million downloads across the Google Play, App Store and Amazon Marketplace.

The game rose to the top of App Store Charts quickly after its launch. Stats show that Temple Run 2 secured 20 million downloads in just four days of its launch. It is played 210 million times by the game fans in these four days.

Seeing the popularity of game in iOS, Temple Run’s creator and co-founder of Imangi, Keith Shepherd said, “The response from fans has been overwhelming. We are thrilled players want more of the Temple Run universe, and we hope to grow and expand the game over the coming months.”

Imangi Studios teamed up with Disney last year and brought Temple Run Brave for Android and iOS in June 2012. The original Temple Run Brave had locale and character based on Pixar movie, Disney and Brave.

Fans of the endless running game Temple Run can now start jumping with joy, as its much-awaited sequel is finally out on Android as well. The iOS version of the game launched a week ago has already crossed over the 20 million download mark. With Temple Run 2, expect even more jumping, running, and sliding as you try to sneak away with a cursed idol.

Temple Run 2 features a new location and slightly more variation in terms of gameplay. This time around, you will be running around cliffs, sliding down a zip line, and riding mine carts. The graphics have also been updated, which should ideally ensure that the game is much smoother than its predecessor.
