The First DDR4 Memory Will Be Released By Crucial by the next month or later soon and it's Advantages

  • DDR4 RAM is twice faster than the DDR3.
  • Use 20% less energy.
  • Higher density memory will be possible with this new technology.
If you are planning to invest in a great upgrade for your computer maybe you should wait a little longer to make decisions, is that the first DDR4 RAM will come to market next month and have very interesting advantages over previous technology, the DDR3.
While technology already existed was not available for purchase by consumers yet. But the company Crucial had promised his release in late 2013, and being the middle of November, it is clear that will be the last month of the year in which the announcement will be implemented.
The new DDR4 RAM will require an update of the motherboard and other computer components as the currently sold are compatible with DDR3 technology. This will limit the possibility of expansion at first but over time will make a big improvement in performance, thanks to the technical possibilities that this new category of memory can reach.
It seems that DDR4 isn’t as far away as we thought . According to Crucial Memory’s promo page  it’s going to come out late 2013. There is  just one month left till the years end. So that being said, we are going to have DDR4 in our PC’s hopefully by next month.
Of course DDR4 has a different architecture, meaning we are going to need a different motherboard, we can’t just put them in our old DDR3 systems. But, is it worth upgrading to DDR4? Crucial Memory also provided a comparison chart with some specifications of what DDR4 will offer, just to show you the difference. The DDR4 will only eat up 1.2Volts as stated by Crucial , while having twice the speed of DDR3 Memory. DDR4 will run on a base memory speed of 2133MHz while having 4GB as their minimum density. According to the chart, we can see that DDR4 is 100% faster than DDR3, requires 20% less voltage and has 300% more density than that of DDR3.

Compared to DDR3, DDR4 will have a smaller die allowing more memory per RAM and also allowing DDR4 to hold up to 16GB per module. Well, that’s massive and twice the single stick DDR3 could provide (8GB). We can’t predict the accurate date of when DDR4 will come out, but as a wild guess it may be available by the middle of next month. Crucial Memory isn’t just one of the manufacturers who are going to throw up DDR4 memory that early. Seeing the increasing competition in the market, we may see more manufacturers coming up with early releases of DDR4, forcing motherboard manufacturers to come up with compatible motherboards.
Advantages of DDR4 RAM
  • Higher speed : nowadays DDR3 have a frequency around 1 Ghz, 1666 Mhz achieving the best performance. The DDR4 RAM can speed 2GHz or more and this results to the user as greater speed computer to manage the operating system, applications and games.
  • Greater efficiency : to consume 20% less energy to reduce consumption and battery team. This also enables greater battery life and energy savings will be somewhat influential in large-scale facilities such as servers.
  • Higher density : higher density housing allows more memory in each RAM module. A module of 16 GB will be possible with the technology of DDR4 RAM. This allows a greater amount of RAM but without taking so many slots of the computer.
Updates :

Crucial has answered to a tweet  that they expect DDR4 to now come out sometime next year :
